Lara has written many short stories, fanfictions and other works ever since she was a small child. She is also an artist, doing commissions and working on various projects in many mediums.
When she was in college, she started writing a story about some of her characters, just for fun. However, she then had the idea to write a proper novel about them and try to publish it and thus Danger in the Darkness was born, the first book in the Gryphie Saga.
She wrote the first few chapters in a notebook before moving onto the computer and Word, to work more on the book. Then for a few years she stopped writing as life and finding a job became top priority. After going through some hard times and overcoming them, she got back to work on the book and each weekend completed more of it. During this time she decided it would be the first of a trilogy of books.
She designed a cover for the book and drew some pictures of the characters to go inside, since she wanted to show people what some of the main characters looked like. The rest was left to the reader's imagination though!
Unfortunately like a lot of artists, she is a perfectionist when it comes to drawing things that will be printed in a book and consequently the four images to go in the book got redrawn a whole lot before she was happy with them. But fortunately over this time, her art and technique improved and the art she came up with was far better than what she had started out drawing. She even designed a theme of logos for each book, which wouldn't have happened had she not taken that time with the inside images.
When the book was finished, she wanted to publish it and decided to self publish and promote it herself so she could share her story with the world.
In 2014, Danger in the Darkness was published and available on a range of websites such as Lulu and Amazon worldwide. The following year, Lara started to write book 2 of the Gryphie Saga; The Search for the SilvaGryphie and in that time she even drew up some concept sketches for characters in the third book! This second book didn't take as long to write, she worked on it every weekend and it was ready for publishing in 2016, nearly 2 years after publication of Danger in the Darkness!
